Information about registration for the event

The registration in the event includes:

  • Participation in poster sessions, presentations of papers, round tables
  • Participation in the guest lectures;
  • Coffee-break ;
  • Event materials (badges, gifts, etc.);

The registration in the event DOES NOT include the tutorials , that have separate registration. For more information about registration in the tutorials, see the end of this page.

Warning: At least one author of each accepted paper must register in the event until 30/08 (the final date for submission of the final version of the article is 08/09).

Information about registering in tutorials

Participants can enroll in any number of tutorials, as their interest. Thus, the registration in the event DOES NOT includes the tutorials, that have separate registration. However, registration in the event together with the three tutorials will have 12% discount on the value of the tutorials.

Dr. Vinay K. Chaudhri is a program director in the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Center at SRI International. His research focuses on the science and engineering of large knowledge base systems and spans knowledge representation and reasoning, question answering, knowledge acquisition, and innovative applications.

TUTORIAL 2: The Industrial Application of Ontology: Driven by a foundational ontology – Prof. Dr. Chris Partridge

Chris Partridge holds an MA in Mathematics and Philosophy from Oxford University. He has been a Visiting Research Fellow in the School of Information Systems, Computing and Mathematics at Brunel University since 2003. He has been researching the practical application of Metaphysics to software development since 1987. He is the author of a book and over 20 peer-reviewed research publications on the subject.

TUTORIAL 3: Introdução à Teoria Aristotélica das Categorias – Prof. Drdo Igor Mota Morici

O minicurso visa a introduzir seus participantes na teoria aristotélica das categorias. Através da leitura comentada de passagens relevantes, faremos um breve percurso sobre algumas das questões fulcrais da ontologia de Aristóteles, mas que impactaram igualmente o curso do pensamento ocidental. Leremos com especial atenção trechos do opúsculo intitulado Categorias.
